The USLCI Fall Quarter 2026 release is available through the National Laboratory of the Rockies’ USLCI repository on the Federal LCA Commons (FLCAC). The update in openLCA zolca format can also be downloaded from the USLCI GitHub Support Content Downloads page.
Overview of USLCI 2026 Fall Quarter Changes:
- Removed Electricity Baseline Library. The Commons Merged repositories [PW1] eliminate the need for an embedded openLCA library within USLCI. USLCI now includes bridge processes that connect directly to the US Electricity Baseline repository. To simplify imports and ensure provider selections are preconnected, use one of the two Commons Merged repositories.
- Synched USLCI Average Electricity Processes with Electricity Baseline. The recent release of the US Electricity Baseline repository includes US average resource mix processes (e.g., US average electricity production from hydropower, natural gas, solar, etc.). USLCI has been updated to reference these processes, and the previous resource mix processes have been phased out.
- Integrated Updated Natural Gas Pathways. The previous release of USLCI (v1.2026-06.0) included new natural gas supply chain data from Argonne National Laboratory’s GREET model. This data was integrated into existing processes in USLCI in this release and the older natural gas supply chain data were removed.
- Updated Stationary Combustion Mixer Processes. New, more detailed stationary combustion data were added in USLCI v1.2026-03.0. While the older generic processes (e.g., Diesel; combusted in industrial equipment) remained the primary stationary combustion references for existing USLCI processes. In this release they were updated to function as mixer processes that draw from the newer stationary combustion processes.
- Added Biogenic Elementary Flows to align with Updated Federal Elementary Flow List (FEDEFL). Biogenic carbon flows were recently added to FEDEFL and subsequently incorporated into USLCI.
- For additional details and other minor fixes see the GitHub release notes.
